• Question: what is your favourite hobbie away from science?

      I enjoy watching TV shows (favourite show is Fringe) and movies. I love to hang out with friends; I especially love travelling and photography.

      I love reading… I read *all* the time. And I love playing football (soccer in Oz). But I think my absolute favourite hobby is playing music – I play the piano, violin and I sing too. My particular favourite is singing jazz and playing jazz piano. (I’m a bit out of practice at the moment, though…)

      I love the outdoors, climbing and mountain biking but I also love sewing: patchwork quilts, making toys for my kids, crochet etc!

      I’m a beach bum at heart. Anything that gets me in the water or on a beach makes me happy. I love sailing, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. I guess that’s partly why I’m so happy as a marine biologist. I’ve also recently become obsessed with yoga. It just makes your body feel so much better!
