      Hey directioner1309,

Sharks get a really bad rap for being man-eaters and vicious killers but at the end of the day, sharks just want to get on with their lives undisturbed. Most sharks aren’t territorial but are more ocean-going so wouldn’t need to protect their patch of the ocean. Sharks kill about 5 to 10 people a year in the whole world and that usually happens for 2 main reasons: Many of shark attacks happen to surfers because the silhouette of a surfer on a board form below looks quite a lot like a seal – one of the main types of prey of sharks. The other reason is that sharks don’t have hands to touch and feel things like humans. Think about if you picked up an orange, you would probably squeeze it to make sure it wasn’t too soft or too off before you decided to eat it. Sharks cant do that, so they investigate with their mouths giving a little nibble. Unfortunately sharks have really sharp teeth and so a little nibble means quite a big cut for us humans and most shark attack victims end up bleeding to death.
I’ve dived a lot with sharks and never had an incident. You just need to be careful and respect them!
Did you know that kites actually kill more humans every year than sharks do?!
