      The short answer is YES.

      Definitely.

I love it. And I can see myself doing the same job for the rest of my life.

      Hey guys,

I absolutely adore my job. I’ve just got to do so many great things which you wouldn’t necessarily get to do in another job.

The opportunities to travel to new places have been incredible – I mean how many people get to say they have been to the Antarctic!

I’ve gotten to meet and work with so many fantastic people – scientists and the public. Sharing ideas with so many smart and interesting people is a huge reason!

I am my own boss which is great – I work on my own time. The independence is good. If I need to take a Monday off, I can easily make it up on a Saturday. It is up to me.

I get to learn and do new things. I probably learn something new everyday and so this means that I am never bored.

I get to see so many new animals and habitats in the deep sea. It is like making your mark in history and being able to say I helped with that discovery or I was one of the first people ever to see that! How many people get to name a new species.

I also love where I work (natural History Museum, London – for the people and the amazing building and location. Everyone in my office is lovely. The view form my window is amazing looking over the gardens of the museum. I am in the centre of London. I also feel so lucky to be working in such a beautiful building with so much history. Here is a pic of where I work:

      Definitely, absolutely, yes.

Like Diva, I love the fact I get opportunities to travel all across the world, work with lots of different people, share our ideas with people who don’t do science, work independently, choosing my own projects and what hours I work, and always get to work on new things and new ideas, so I never get bored.
