• Question: would you encourage students to become scientists

      I encourage everyone to become scientist. But ultimately, this is a decision that individual has to take.

      For me, it is pointless to go to a career that you won’t enjoy. So if you like science, you enjoy learning and you love doing experiment, then the right choice for you is to become a scientist!

      Absolutely! its a great career, but only if you enjoy it and have a naturally curious personality.

      Definitely! Being a scientist is a fantastic and very rewarding career, which gives you wonderful opportunities to travel, to collaborate with others, and can give you the independence to work on what you really love doing. There are also many other careers that you can take up as a scientist, such as science reporting and journalism, working for a science journal, and science outreach to explain science to young people and the general public. You can work for a university, for industry or for the government.

      But the key to all of this is that you should choose a career that you love. If you enjoy science, like the challenge of solving problems and learning new things, then go for it!

      I would definitely encourage students to become scientists. It’s a good career with lots of variety and interest, if not the best paid or the most sociable hours sometimes. Even if, later on, you decide you want to do something else, it’s amazing training for the brain and sets you up to do almost anything!

      Most definitely positively YES! The great thing about being a scientist is that there are so many different types of science. There is pretty much something for everyone. there are so many great opportunities: to travel, to meet people, to be your own boss, to have flexible hours, to get to spend every day doing what you love, to talk to people about your work…….the list goes on!
